Copenhagen Designs Inc. was founded in 1982 by Danish natives Vibeke & Bo Nielsen who immigrated to the United States in early 1981. With a background as export manager for several European manufacturers in the furniture and carpet industries, President & CEO Bo Nielsen, along with his wife Vibeke Nielsen, Vice President, began his U.S. venture in the San Diego Design Center on Morena Blvd, selling high-end European office furniture to the trade.

In 1988 they decided to expand and shift their focus from wholesale to resale and opened Copenhagen Interiors on Miramar Road with a 15,000 square foot showroom and warehouse. 1 year later, they opened Copenhagen Business Interiors, specializing in high-end office furniture. Then in 1992, in response to growing customer demand for more living room furniture - sofas in particular - Copenhagen Business Interiors was replaced by Copenhagen Leather Studio, which is located right next door, and specializes in high-end leather lines.

The store today consists of a large selection of living room, dining room & entertainment settings, as well as bedroom & executive office furniture and unique accessories, including area rugs, wall decor, lighting fixtures and many items you won't find anywhere else!
